uu - I wasn't jumping on you, sorry if my whine came across as an eye poke.

Yeah, it was about the music. I don't know of any links to any sites with music yet. The spot on SIrius-XM said the CD was coming out in mid-November. If I find any links I will be sure to follow up.

To be honest, my first thought was "Damn, that is some fine picking." When they started talking about the fact that Allerton was white and Myers was black it did take an interesting turn given that it was the 40's. You and I could talk about it at length I'm sure about the socio-political-racial undercurrents - and as we can see, others most certainly cannot.

What I think is cool is that all of those issues were blurred over because of one thing - Allerton's and Myer's love of one of my favorite genres of music.

I did find one link to a page about Al Hawke and his early career. Alton Myers played with Hawkes in '49 in a group called the Cumberland Ridge Runners. I like the part where he was broadcasting illegally and the FCC came after him.

I hope this story gets some traction and more info comes to light.

Again, sorry if I came across as a grinch.

No worries brother. I didn't take the "whine" as an "eye poke". It was more of a nudge to tighten the "back flow preventer" that I kinda helped open this time.
